Slow Cooker Pizza Meatballs Subs

I love chicken and pepperoni together on pizza so I decided to wrap it all up into a meatball and make subs. I went to my freezer and discovered I was very low on chicken but I did have some ground turkey so I decided to swap it out. These are great with the turkey, but I do think the chicken would be better.

Meatballs:

20 oz ground chicken or turkey
2 oz pepperoni slices, chopped
1 egg
1/4 cup bread crumbs
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
salt and pepper to taste

Pizza Sauce of your choice (my recipe here)

Sub Rolls
Mozzarella Cheese
Provolone Cheese
Parmesan Cheese

Preheat oven to 350

Mix ground turkey/chicken with pepperoni, egg, crumbs and seasonings until just combined.

Divide and Shape the mixture into meatballs and place on a greased rimmed baking sheet.

Bake for 15 minutes.

Transfer to a slow cooker and pour over 2 cups pizza sauce

Cook on low for 4-6 hours

Scoop into a bun and top as desired!
